calculation of air loss

Cracking open all condensate drain valves are very simple and convenient. However this type of drain require high maintenance fee and running cost. If the ball valve is continuously cracked open a little for discharging, oversaturated very small particle of condensate has no chance to form bigger water which could easily go down to lower level in pipe line and vessel in order to be discharged in a proper way. In addition when running time of compressor, high air speed(8~12meter/sec) with wet vapor can adversely affect downstream pneumatic equipment and process. So be sure to provide a good condition to form over saturated particles altogether.

Compressor capacity = 450Hp(58§©/min)
Annual condensate volume = 184§©/year

Air loss
= 1,166§©/min x 6points x 60min x 24hour x 300day
= 3,022,272§©/year

Air flow for discharging condensate is
184§©/year x 90(factor) = 16,560§©

Real air loss cost is like below ;
3,022,272§©-16,569§© = 3,005,712§©x10WON = \ 30,057,120

Please compare to belows with installing Acetrap.

calculation of air loss

<Case 1>

Shut off Acetrap at after-cooler and open by-pass valve a little.

<Result>

Acetrap operates about 300 times at receiver tank per day.

<Case 2>

Operate Acetrap at after-cooler and close by-pass valve.

<Result>

Acetrap operates about 50 times at receiver tank per day.
